With Applause Meter, every karaoke night becomes a real competition! The extension listens to audience applause via the microphone and automatically assigns a score from 0 to 10 to each performer, in real time. An animated gauge shows the applause level as it rises, and the final leaderboard crowns the most beloved singer of the night.
The system uses an advanced audio analysis algorithm that distinguishes applause from booing: it measures energy in the typical applause frequency range (2kHz–10kHz), evaluates the spectral flatness of the signal, and penalises dominant low frequencies. The final score is calculated using the 75th percentile of collected samples, rewarding peaks of enthusiasm.
The Dual Screen feature lets you show the gauge and leaderboard on a separate monitor or projector, visible to the whole audience — perfect for karaoke nights, events, parties and amateur competitions. 🎤
📋 How to Use

Install the extension
Download Applause Meter from the Chrome Web Store and install it in Chrome.

Open the Sidebar
Click the 👏 icon in the Chrome toolbar. The side panel opens with the animated gauge.

Enter the performer's name
Type the name in the "Performer" field so it gets automatically saved to the leaderboard.

Choose the duration and start listening
Select the duration (3 / 5 / 8 / 10 seconds) and press "START LISTENING". The extension enters listening mode and the needle moves in real time.

Score is assigned automatically
When time is up, the algorithm calculates the final score and adds it to the leaderboard.

Use the Dual Screen for the audience
Press the "DUAL SCREEN" button to open a fullscreen page to project — featuring a giant gauge, score and live leaderboard.
